“My musical taste seems to change from day to day,” says He Is Legend’s Schuylar Croom. “Here are just a few of the jams I would pump on any given day.”

With It Hates You, He Is Legend skyrocket their cinematic southern rock into the next stratosphere. Vocalist Croom scoured his iTunes and assembled quite the playlist for ARTISTdirect.com.

Check it out below and pick up It Hates You now!

Schuylar Croom’s Setlist:

1. Radiohead — “Reckoner”

I got the opportunity to see this band twice last summer and it was the highlight by far. Radiohead’s records have always held a special place in my heart, and In Rainbows has become one of my favorites.

2. Bob Dylan — “Subterranean Homesick Blues”

This is a classic throwback that makes me stop and shake my ass whenever I hear it.

3. Neurosis — “The Eye of Every Storm”

This is one of the most powerful songs ever, if listen to in the right frame of mind…and through headphones.

4. The Presets — “Yippiyo-ay”

This Band is one of my new favorites and has the greatest videos.

5. Jeff Buckley — “Lover, You Should Have Come Over”

The greatest song ever recorded.

6. Motorhead — “Overkill”

Sleaze at its finest.

One of the best jukebox jams ever recorded. Dave Ghrol is legend.

8. The Beatles — “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)”

You hear that badass stoner riff?

9. Tom Waits — “Make It Rain”

I would spin any of the songs in his catalog but this one came to mind right now.

10. Blind Melon — “Galaxie”

“Lumberjack man, lumberjack man, lumberjack, man! Come on Doc, I just need my belt,” yells Method Man as he bangs on Redman’s dressing room door before their appearance on The Carson Daly Show.

Meth is rocking a green flannel shirt ready to hit the stage, but he’s missing that one crucial accessory. Redman pokes his head out, clad in a new Gucci vest, and hands Meth the belt.

“Look at the wardrobe difference, man. I ain’t gonna say nothing—it’s all gravy. I’m going into the other room with my cheap shit,” exclaims Meth with a laugh. “I’m going to throw on my fuckin’ Old Navy [Laughs].”

Regardless of personal fashion choices, Method Man and Redman’s music never goes out of style. That’s instantly apparent after one spin of Blackout! 2—their epic collaboration and hotly anticipated sequel to Blackout! In fact, the sequel follows the Hollywood formula successfully. It’s bigger, better and more badass. These two legendary MC’s are more on fire than ever, and each incendiary track proves it.

However, we were curious about what Method Man was spinning, and he happily shared his playlist with us below.

Method Man’s Playlist:

1.	Tom Waits

I’ve got a lot of old shit on my playlist—a ton of Tom Waits.

2.	Joe Cocker — “With a Little Help from My Friends”

I love this song. It was from The Wonder Years [Laughs].

3. Miss TK & The Revenge — “No Biterz”

This shit is rockin!

4. Beyonce

I like Beyonce’s music. Her shit is rockin’ too, bro [Laughs].

5. Allah Mathematics — Hip Hop Volume 1

I love this new Allah Math CD. It hasn’t even dropped yet. The new joints on it are great. That’s heavy in rotation right now. I love that.

6. Method Man & Redman — Blackout! 2

That’s hot!

7. Michael Jackson — Thriller

I remember getting Michael Jackson’s Thriller, and damn me if I didn’t play that shit from beginning to end without skipping a damn word. You didn’t have skip back then anyway, so you had to listen to it [Laughs]. It’s about those vibes.

A Taste:

Frank Sinatra, Tom Waits, Aretha Franklin

Music pumps through Ron Perlman’s veins, and it often influences his intense performance style.

“Music has always been a really big part of my life,” says the Mutant Chronicles star in between drags of fresh cigar. “My dad was a musician. My brother was a musician. There was music constantly playing in my house when I was a kid. If I had been a little more disciplined and a little less self-indulgent, I could’ve gone into music too. I wouldn’t practice an instrument with that kind of dedication though. I had to find a way to express myself that required no training, no practice and no real investment of time and energy [Laughs]. That happened to be acting.”

It was a good choice since Perlman’s heroes are some of the most memorable to grace the screen in recent memory. His Hellboy remains an iconic badass, and his stint on Beauty and the Beast still brandishes a heroic edge. Ron’s latest knight in shining armor, Mutant Chronicles‘ Brother Samuel, is equally meaningful for him.

He continues, “Brother Samuel is somebody who one can aspire to be like, and I really love the character. I find that one of the reasons why I’ll say, ‘Yeah, I can do this part,’ is because I’ll hear music in the writing. I did in this case. Every great writer has a phenomenal, well-honed sense of rhythm. Writers understand things in musical terms. I basically listen to music that’s going to relax me and make me go to neutral [while we’re filming]. That’s where I want to be.”

At Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors, Ron shared his playlist with us for this exclusive feature. It’s quite expansive to say the least!

Check out what he’s spinning below and be sure to see Mutant Chronicles next Friday!

Ron Perlman’s Playlist:

1. Rachmanov

“If I’m all wound up and need to calm down, I’m going to throw in Rachmanov.”

2. Andrea Bocelli

“If I want to get into a grand genial frame of mind, I might listen to Andrea Bocelli. I’m not suggesting that I’m into classical music at all though [Laughs].”

3. Frank Sinatra

“My go-to guys are Frank Sinatra, Tom Waits, Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin.

4. Tom Waits

“There are a lot of people that I listen to, and all of it influences me to a degree. At the end of the day, as an actor, you’ve got to make your character real. It can’t be like a performance. The only things you have to go by are your own instinct and your own wiring. The trick is to bring what you know and what you have inside of you to this abstract place and find where it lives naturally. That’s basically what I try to do. I won’t take a part unless I think I know how to play it, because who wants to stink up a movie? That’s it for me.”

5. Stevie Wonder

6. Aretha Franklin

“The style of music depends on what mood I’m in, but I’m always listening to something.”

7. Les Miserable — Soundtrack

“I must say I’ve been listening to Les Miserables a lot since that lady sang that song on Britain’s Got Talent [Laughs]. My taste is very diverse. I love music!”
