Jessie JamesPop singer Jessie James opens up her iTunes and gives us an exclusive look at the music that’s rocking her world…

A Taste:

Ray LaMontagne, Sia, Zero 7

Jessie James is just what pop music needs. She can belt out infectious melodies with the best of them, but she eschews the veneer of Hollywood glitz and glamour. Plus, she’s not afraid to mix up her sound with a country edge, farther separating her from the pack.

Jessie has quite a diverse musical palette too. She talked to us in this exclusive feature about what’s on her iPod.

Check out Jessie’s playlist below and be sure to pick up her debut on Island/Def Jam this summer!

Jessie James’ Playlist:

1. Ray LaMontagne

“I really like him. I was just listening to him on a plane, and he always puts me in a good mood.”

2. Shelby Lynne

“I listen to her frequently.”

3. Zero 7

“I sing really loud, and I have a big voice. Most people would think that I like to listen to music that’s similar to mine. However, I really like to listen to very chilled-out music. I love Zero 7. It’s very easy music to listen to. It’s nice to relax with this because I’m belting all the time [Laughs].”

Jason SegelI Love You, Man star Jason Segel opens up his iTunes and gave us an exclusive look inside

A Taste:

Van Morrison, Ray LaMontagne

Jason Segel has got rhythm. That’s instantly apparent from his impeccable comedic delivery in the raucously hilarious, I Love You, Man.

“I think comedy is very musical,” the actor explains. “There’s a rhythm to it—especially in a buddy comedy. It’s about leaving moments open for the other actor and coming in strong when it’s your turn. There is a very musical element to it.”

Jason and Paul Rudd’s performances simply sing in I Love You, Man. The film follows Peter Klaven (Rudd), a friendless real estate agent who needs to find a best man before his wedding. Segel’s Sidney Fife is the man for the gig. The film is musical even beyond the actors’ sizzling rhythms with power-prog trio Rush making a hilarious cameo.

Paul and Jason got a chance to rock out in the movie too, covering “Tom Sawyer” in Sidney’s “Man-cave.” About their on-screen jamming, Segel laughs, “Paul sounded amazing. I sounded horrible. My guitar is almost entirely dubbed [Laughs]. Paul really learned to ’slappa de bass’ [Laughs].”
