Ramon Rodriguez was listening to jazz when he got the call. Yes, that call—the “you’re in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen call!”

However, his usual playlist is all over the map. He exclaims, “I had some jazz music playing up in my loft when I got the call, but I like listening to all kinds of stuff, salsa, hip hop, R&B, soul, funk, Latin jazz, rock, classic rock and ’80s. There’s not much I don’t like to be honest. I listen to everything.”

1. Hector Lavoe

I always listen to Hector Lavoe; he’s one of my favorites.

2. James Brown

I go into different modes. Lately, I went into this club mode, listening to whatever was hot in the club. Then I went into a soul funk mode where I was listening to James Brown. I love the old school stuff. I’ve been mixing it up.

3. The Gap Band

We had a dinner at my manager’s place on Saturday and we were mixing all kinds of good stuff—including Gap Band.

4. Joy Division

For awhile, I got into Joy Division for a little bit after that movie Control. I got heavy into that.
