Musically, he’s able to blend together the best elements of hip hop and R&B, while on screen he can play the action hero with a conscience and real depth. That’s exactly what he does in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Tyrese takes his character Epps to another level, adding tangible emotion amidst all of the bombastic explosions.

Tyrese is always listening to music too. So he decided to share his playlist with ARTISTdirect.com in this exclusive feature. Check it out below and don’t miss Tyrese in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen in theaters everywhere on Wednesday June 24, 2009.

I’m an oldies but goodies guy. I stay with Marvin Gaye, The Whispers, Stevie Wonder and R. Kelly. I still listen to classic music because I feel that’s where the soul and foundation of music was built.

Green River Ordinance mix Texas swagger with massive melodies for a brand of infectious pop rock that’s as rowdy as a rodeo. On their EMI debut Out of My Hands, the band churns out groove after groove of pure pop gold. Guitarist Jamey Ice sat down with us in this exclusive interview and gave us a look at the music that inspires and influences him. Check out Jamey’s playlist below.

Jamey Ice’s Playlist:

1.	My Favorite Highway

“They’re also on Virgin and we listened to them on the drive home last night from Oklahoma. Their album came out yesterday. It’s a really cool pop rock record in the vein of Fall Out Boy. It’s a really catchy album!”

2.	Thriving Ivory

“They’re another cool pop alternative band. The singer has a crazy voice. He almost sounds like Geddy Lee from Rush. Their single, ‘Angels on the Moon,’ is massive. Aerosmith wanted to buy the song and do it like ‘Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing,’ but Thriving Ivory wouldn’t sell them the song. They wanted to do it themselves. That definitely gives you an idea of what it is. They’re a great new band.”

3.	Paper Route

“They’re like Radiohead meets Coldplay. I’ve been listening to them a lot.”

4.	Marvin Gaye

“I got into an old school Motown mood so I was listening to a lot of Marvin Gaye and Smokey Robinson. I don’t know why, but I’ve been stuck on Pandora’s Motown channel.”

5.	Smokey Robinson

6.	Chuck Berry

7.	U2 — No Line On the Horizon

“It’s growing on me. I was honestly a little disappointed by it at first compared to the last two records. I’m a huge U2 fan. It’s definitely growing on me. The music and instruments are really cool. It’s more like the pre-Joshua Tree U2. It doesn’t have those massive instantly singable anthem choruses. The more I listen to it the more I like it. The Edge is probably my favorite guitar player of all-time. I love him.”

8.	Led Zeppelin

“They’re the reason I play guitar. I got II when I was in sixth grade and ‘Heartbreaker’ just rocked my world. I grew up listening to blues and classic rock and I probably didn’t listen to any new music at all until my senior year of high school.”

9.	Stevie Ray Vaughan

10.	Eric Clapton

“When I was in middle school my dad took me to see Eric Clapton. I grew up listening to that.”

11.	Third Eye Blind

12.	Coldplay

13.	Zac Brown

“It’s a southern country Americana record. They’re insane musicians.”

14.	Tom Petty

“We’re huge Tom Petty fans. If Tom Petty and U2 had a baby hopefully it would be something like our music. We’ve always tried to be a band that writes songs people can sing to, dance and enjoy.

15.	Kings of Leon

Denzel Washington commands any scene he’s in.

He’s got an unbridled intensity and true fire that’ll never be extinguished—even when he’s stepping back and playing a “normal dude.” Just watch him in The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 for proof of his power. However when he’s kicking back, he’s most likely to be cranking Marvin Gaye.

“Why not,” laughs the Academy Award Winner with a smile.

For him, music is an integral source of inspiration, even if what he personally likes didn’t necessarily inform the Pelham performance. He continues, “Music does inform my performances, but the music I was playing was not in this movie. Obviously, that’s the director’s decision. Tony [Scott, director] did give me some music on Man On Fire. We talked about Nine Inch Nails for that one. He didn’t do that on this film though [Laughs]. Sometimes a song will follow me or I’ll follow it through a whole movie, but that wasn’t the case here.”

Nevertheless, Denzel shared his playlist with us in this exclusive feature. Check it out below and catch The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 in theaters on June 12, 2009.

“It’s not a juggle, it’s just what I do,” says Snoop Dogg about his amazing ability to multi-task. As of late, the rap legend has become the paragon of balance—as strange as that sounds. Right now, he’s working on his next album Malice In Wonderland, he’s hosting his very own variety show on MTV, Dogg After Dark, he’s planning upcoming movie projects and he’s got Snoop Dogg’s Fatherhood on E! However, he still finds time to promote the young guns, using Dogg After Dark as a platform for new artists.

The Doggfather opened up his iTunes playlist and gave us an exclusive look inside at what he’s bumpin’ right now. Of course, Snoop keeps it classy.

He laughs, “When people ask me what’s in the iPod, I can never say anything new because there’s never anything new! [Laughs] I’m more old school, you know what I’m saying? I’m about what happened yesterday because I am today.”

Spoken like the true innovator he is!

Check out Snoop Dogg’s playlist below and don’t miss Dogg After Dark every Tuesday on MTV at 9pm PT/ET.

Snoop Dogg’s Playlist:

1.	Willie Hutch

2.	Curtis Mayfield

“Willie Hutch, Curtis Mayfield—I’m listening to records of that nature right now.”

3.	Al Green

“I’m old school when it comes to R&B.”

4.	Marvin Gaye

5.	George Benson

6.	Soulja Boy

7.	Kid Cudi

“I had Kid Cudi on the show, and I’m definitely using Dogg After Dark as a venue to break new performers.”

8.	LMFAO

“They’re a new group from Long Beach, and they came in and did their song ‘I’m in Miami Bitch.’ I’m really into breaking that new talent and giving that shot to an artist who hasn’t been on MTV before and hasn’t been in a big environment as far as exposing what they do. I believe one of these acts on Dogg After Dark could be the next great talent.”
