Katie Featherston & Micah Sloat of Paranormal Activity

Posted by Playlisted on Jan 11, 2010 in movie celebrities

Paranormal Activity stars Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat share their “haunted” iPod playlists with ARTISTdirect.com editor and Dolor author Rick Florino in this exclusive feature…

A Taste:

Beethoven, Bob Schneider, Al Green

What do ghosts listen to?

Chances are it’s a combination of Slayer and Elvis…since we can’t know for sure what the paranormal are cranking, we figured we’d chat with “the haunted” themselves about music. It was a lot easier than having a séance to find out a playlist, and technology just hasn’t reached that point, unfortunately. Hopefully someday though…

Paranormal Activity’s Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat were both excited to share their respective playlists with ARTISTdirect.com editor and Dolor author Rick Florino in this exclusive feature.

Check out Micah and Katie’s playlists below and don’t miss Paranormal Activity out on DVD everywhere now!

Micah Sloat’s Playlist

1. Beethoven

Honestly, this is really funny. Last night, I turned on NPR and I heard Beethoven’s “8th Symphony.” I thought, “Damn, if that’s not an awesome piece of music….”

2. Revell

3. Brams

4. Mozart

Recently, I’ve been getting back into the classical era and listening to a lot of old school stuff—Revell, Brams and Mozart. That wasn’t the answer you were expecting [Laughs]

Acting and music are both performance arts, so there’s a lot of crossover with what you’re doing. I’ll just say that whatever I’ve learned in music, I find myself taking with me on set, and whatever I use in acting classes, I always find that helps me out when I’m on stage. There’s a huge crossover. What really connects them ultimately is the sense of sharing. When you’re really sharing your experience with the audience, no matter what movie you’re communicating in, that’s going to be good work. No matter what I’m doing creatively in my life, I knew as long as I was relating to people I’d be happy. It’s a real blessing and a real opportunity to do this on such a high level. I want to say thank you to everyone all of the fans that have been so awesome and allowed all of us to share our work. If anyone out there is a struggling artist, stick with it because it does happen.

Gallows

GallowsSteph Carter of Gallows opens up his blood-smeared playlist and gives us a taste of what rocks his world

A Taste:

Beethoven, Bach, Metallica

Gallows guitarist Steph Carter, who is the brother of vocalist Frank Carter, may storm the stage and proceed to play some of the most pissed-off, venom n’ vingar soaked music to blow out of England since 1977. But offstage, it’s an entirely different story. Carter, who also plays piano, is an avid classical music fan.

In typical Gallows, “I don’t give a fuck” fashion, Carter isn’t apologizing for what he likes. Instead, he’s celebrating it. He doesn’t care what you think of his musical tastes or his band. And isn’t that the entire spirit of punk rock in the first place? To be free to do what you want, when you want and how you want? The band’s major label debut, Grey Britain, is in stores now and it’s an anarchic chunk o’ punk. It’s not shocking that Carter listens to much more mellow music in his personal life since he’s surrounding by skull-splitting tunes in his band. Without further adieu, here’s what Carter listens to when he wants to come down off a Gallows high.

Steph Carter’s Playlist:

1. Beethoven

2. Bach
