311 is all about phases.
On Uplifter, every song goes through its own metamorphosis. Styles shift seamlessly from funk to reggae to alt rock to heavy metal. In the same fashion, singer Nick Hexum’s iPod is also constantly shifting. However, it’d have to be to inspire 311’s veritable musical melting pot!
“Music is all about unity,” he says. “I try to have that attitude in my day-to-day life. I’m the kind of guy who likes almost everything! If you open your mind, you can hear what any artist was aiming for and relate to it on some level.”

Damon Wayans Jr. shares his playlist with us in this exclusive feature…
A Taste:
Drake
Dance Flick teaches some valuable lessons like, “Don’t wear a pink shirt top a drive-by.”
That may be common sense, but it’s a good point to reiterate. The recipient of that tidbit is the film’s protagonist Thomas, a hilarious Damon Wayans Jr. Young Damon keeps the Wayans’ comedy tradition alive through an outrageous and clever performance in the film.
He’s also got an interesting taste in music, and he shared his playlist selection with us in this exclusive feature.
Damon Wayans Jr.’s Playlist:
1. Drake
“I actually just got into Drake. He was on Degrassi. I used to think he was credible—like kind of thugged out. Then I was like, ‘Wait, you’re on Degrassi.’” [Laughs]
