Saliva drummer Paul Crosby was on a brief break from the road, but that didn’t stop him from providing ARTISTdirect.com with his Top 5 playlist. Saliva issued their fifth album for Island, Cinco Diablo, at the tail end of last year. 2009 sees the band remaining on tour. After the break, they will appear this spring on the resurrected Sno Core® tour as a featured attraction. Here’s what Crosby is rocking and not surprisingly, it’s mostly rock and metal.

“They have a new album coming out on Atlantic. We just got off tour with them and Shinedown, so I’ve been listening to them.”

3. Overseene

“This is band you may not have heard of. They’re called Overseene, and they’re from Dallas. They are one of my favorite bands right now, for real.”

4. Killswitch Engage

“I listen to a lot of Killswitch Engage. They are my favorite metal band. I listen to them before I go on stage to get pumped up.”

5. Bullet For My Valentine

“My girl turned me on to Bullet For My Valentine. I’ve only gotten into them recently, but I always meant to because I had heard great things about them. All of these bands are on my iTunes playlist, so this is all legit.”
